Elk Grove City Council

Normally, this would not be listed, but with the potential contract with SacRT, and possible annexation into SacRT, it is important that folks that are around attend the 6pm Elk Grove City Council Meeting on Wednesday 13 March 2019. This can be history in the making. The matter is Item 10.1 on the City Council Agenda.

SACOG

The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) has a Board of Directors that generally meets at 9am on the Third Thursday of every month, as well as various committees, like the Transportation Committee and the Transit Coordinating Committee. The Transportation Committee is a Board Committee that generally meets the first Thursday of the month, while the Transit Coordinating Committee meets sporadically. Their next meeting occurs at 9am on Wednesday, April 17th. All meetings occur in either the SACOG Board Room, or the SACOG “Rivers Room” located adjacent to the Board Room.

The Sacramento Area Council of Governments (SACOG) is an association of local governments in the six-county Sacramento region. Its members include the counties of El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento, Sutter, Yolo, Yuba and the 22 cities within.

SACOG provides transportation planning and funding for the region, and serves as a forum for the study and resolution of regional issues. In addition to preparing the region’s long-range transportation plan, SACOG approves the distribution of affordable housing in the region and assists in planning for transit, bicycle networks, clean air and airport land uses.

Y.C.T.D. (YoloBus)

They currently operate four regular bus routes (40, 41, 42A/42B, and 240) into and out of Downtown Sacramento with various connections with the Sacramento Regional Transit District. They are now going through a comprehensive operational analysis that is somewhat similar to the recently adopted “SacRT Forward” project. Should folks want to attend meetings of this board, their next 7pm meeting is March 11th, April 8th, and May 13th.

In addition to the above information, two other services provide their products into Sacramento by way of intercity rail service - the Capitol Corridor Joint Powers Authority and the San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority. Both have governing bodies that make decisions that impact transportation in Sacramento and the surrounding area. The next Board Meeting will be the San Joaquin Joint Powers Authority at 10:30am on March 22nd in Stockton.
